It was her daughter Gaby who inspired Donna Karen to start the label DKNY in 1989, alongside her existing Donna Karan New York label. For Karen, “design is a constant challenge to balance comfort with luxe, the practical with the desirable”, and this is something that is easily visible in her collection. While retaining the famous designer’s elegant touch, DKNY has a more youthful look to it and exudes sensuality and effortless styling.
Indian fashionistas will be happy to know that leading m-commerce fashion platform, Myntra, has now launched the trendy fashion brand DKNY. The new collection will offer shoppers more than 150 unique styles, with products ranging from handbags, shoes, wallets, dresses, to shirts and trousers, in addition to watches that were launched earlier. The products are priced between INR 5,800 and INR 39,000.
Demand for premium and luxury brands has been growing in India. According to a recent Assocham report, Indian shoppers are likely to spend $35 billion on online luxury brands by 2016! The luxury brands market certainly looks promising – Myntra is all set to lead the way.
