Myntra’s first Big Fashion Gig earlier this year promised some unique fashion experiences for its customers. From live conversations with celebs like Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, fashion gigs by several other celebrities, exclusive looks put together by Bollywood’s style icons and much more from the best of brands and designers, it was a star-studded affair for Myntra customers!
This time Myntra decided to do something unique as well for the 2nd edition of the Big Fashion Gig – by inviting customers to join hands with them for a cause, while getting a fashion upgrade themselves, during November 21-24. A special feature of the Fashion Gig allows shoppers to give away extra clothes, footwear, home furnishings and more against redeemable points that can be used to shop and upgrade their wardrobes.
Myntra Fashion Upgrade is a unique initiative in association with GOONJ, a Delhi-based voluntary organisation that channelizes unused clothes lying idle in urban homes, to the far-flung villages of India as an important development resource. The initiative, revolving around the concept of ‘fashion karma’ encourages shoppers to submit up to 15 units of clothing, footwear etc with Myntra. Every shopper can redeem points worth rupees 15,000/- in lieu of gifting needless clothes to the rural community.
This initiative enables thousands of people in far flung rural areas to procure clothes, making it one of the largest ever initiatives in this direction. According to consumer research done by Myntra, 68 percent of Myntra consumers have shown willingness to participate in an event that contributes to a human cause. In fact, even Hrithik Roshan has also expressed willingness to participate in this drive through his brand HRX.
Some of the best national and international brands will up for grabs during the four-day event. Leading Myntra brands such as Roadster, HRX, All About You, Anouk and Dressberry are introducing a range of new styles during the event. Also, global brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Jack & Jones, UCB, Vero Moda, Forever 21, Nike, Adidas, Puma, AND, USPA and national brands such as Lavie, Red Tape, W and Biba among others are presenting some of their latest collections.
