Concepts which were just ideas some years back, are influencing our lives in ways we would not have thought of five years ago. Myntra invited some of the finest tech minds to its second Open Hack Day – HACKERRAMP 2016 – on April 16 & 17, 2016 and challenged them develop intuitive methods and intelligent codes to build innovative mobile commerce solutions in 24 hours.
The theme of this year’s hackathon was Computer Vision, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. From around 200 participant companies last year to approximately 500 companies this year, including Walmart Labs, Intuit, Hike and Practo, HACKERRAMP 2016 has been a huge hit!
As Ambarish Kenghe, Head of Product, Myntra, said while addressing the audience at the beginning of the event, “Open hackathons are great not just for engaging with professionals from the tech community but also sowing the seeds for great innovation down the line. We are certain that the discussion from today will continue beyond this event and lead to great products and technologies.”
Also present at the event as a speaker was Arpita Kapoor, CEO, Mech Mocha, who said, “I am very happy to witness such Hackathons, which inspire and educate tech enthusiasts to develop futuristic technologies that will revolutionize the m-commerce industry. These two days are sure to bring out something new and exceptional and I am looking forward to be part of the next edition of Myntra’s HackerRamp.”
Participants (individuals or a team of four) competed for prizes worth Rs. 2,50,000/- which was offered to the top three demonstrations post the event. If some of you missed it this time, that’s okay, but look out for much more fun and crazy ideas and innovations next year, around the same time!
