Former McKinsey India Director Ananth Narayanan is all set to join Myntra as its new Chief Executive Officer from October 2015. He will be taking over from the current CEO & Co-founder Mukesh Bansal. Bansal will assume the position of Chairman of the Board while continuing to lead Flipkart’s commerce platform. He will be actively involved in contributing to Myntra’s vision, strategy, and overall direction in his role as Chairman.
Narayanan has rich experience in product development practices for McKinsey globally and across industries. He joins Myntra at a time when the company has established a strong leadership in the fashion space and is leading the mobile revolution. “Ananth will be a great leader to drive Myntra’s aspiration to transform how people shop for fashion and to build category-leading fashion brands. I am looking forward to working with Ananth to shape the next phase in Myntra’s evolution,” Bansal said.
In an interview with The Hindu Business Line, Narayanan talks about why he opted to get into the fashion and lifestyle space. “Myntra is a leader in its space and is looking to grow and scale to the next level. I will be leading the effort to create a mobile fashion industry that’s never been done before. It’s really exciting to be able to work with both Myntra and Flipkart teams to jointly shape the next S-curve for Myntra which means, great customer experience and high growth,” he said.
