The Agent of Change: Technology
When the disastrous Chennai floods occurred couple of months ago and broke down infrastructure and communication lines, people found a way to not only communicate but even organize relief operations through WhatsApp and Social Media. While one hopes for better infrastructural support in case of such crisis, this was nevertheless an example of technology being an enabler for the common man.
At the India Conference 2016, organized by Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, Myntra’s CEO, Ananth Narayanan as one of the panelists, spoke of critical ways in which technology is transforming India at various levels. The panel discussion was on ‘Role of Technology in India’s Transformation’ and brought together other collaborators from different walks of the technology ecosystem – Kunal Shah – CEO, FreeCharge; Gautam Sinha – CEO & CTO, Times Internet; and Bejul Somaia – MD, Light Speed Venture Partners.
The panel discussed interesting insights such as where is the Indian market poised when it comes to leveraging technology? Who is the Chief Technology Officer of your household? How much of a social change is technology really enabling? Watch all these and more in the video below:
