Cut A Stylish Figure This No Shave November

No Shave November or Movember is here and we can see manly beards being displayed in all their glory. The Movember movement supports the cause of spreading awareness about cancer in men. For the entire month, men keep their razors aside, let their mane grow freely and embrace hair, which patients otherwise end up losing in their battle with cancer.

However, dear men, giving your beards and moustaches a free reign does not mean that you have to look untidy. We have some grooming tips for you; maintain a good hygiene for your beard and cut a stylish figure this month:

Wash the mane clean

No Shave November - Beard wash

Just like your hair, the beard requires regular washing to stay clean, soft and shiny. Beard wash treats coarse hair and rejuvenates the skin underneath. It also removes beard-ruff (same as dandruff in hair!) and other impurities from the beard. A beard shampoo will do away with minor infections and rashes, while a conditioner will counter dryness and flaky skin underneath the beard.

Trim for a sharp look

No Shave November - Trimmer

While you are celebrating freedom from razors, trimming and grooming is perfectly acceptable. A plethora of beard trimmers are available for a well-maintained look that will make heads turn. Another handy trick is to always keep a beard comb close by. Clean out dead skin and beard-ruff, if any, by regular combing. Not just that, combing your beard will also increase blood circulation in the area.

Nourish your hair

No Shave November - Beard oil

It is a common mistake to neglect the nourishment of the beard – it usually loses out to the hair. But believe it or not, beards need nourishment as much as hair does. A beard oil keeps the beard soft and hydrated, regulates the natural oils and reduces irritation by moisturizing the skin. A consistent application of the beard oil boosts beard growth as well.

No Shave November - Beard wax

Complement the use of oil with a dash of beard wax for that chiseled look, especially if you are fond of styling your moustache! Give your moustache the desired look and then use the wax to set it.

These grooming tips and tricks are perfect for men to not only look dapper, but support a cause in the form of No Shave November. Don’t forget a very important aspect of hair nourishment though – a healthy and balanced diet! The best part about following this regime is that men can carry forward the distinguished look they get well beyond November or even all through the year.
