How Myntra is supporting the community during the COVID crisis
At Myntra, we believe in the power of people coming together and making the impossible happen. We see it everyday in the organisation, and we see it now as Myntraites come forward to help each other and mobilise resources for the community at large.
Procuring and distributing life-saving COVID essentials
With the pandemic affecting a large number of daily wage labourers last year, we partnered with GiveIndia and responded in record time to provide cash support to daily wagers across India. This year, the impact of the pandemic is far worse and has directly and indirectly impacted almost everyone in the country. We have partnered with GiveIndia this year as well for COVID relief efforts.
COVID Care Fundraiser
A COVID Relief Fundraiser has been set up in association with GiveIndia. Through this effort, the objective is to provide life-saving essentials, such as oxygen supply, N-95 masks, PPE kits, hand sanitisers, vaccinations, and essential care at COVID-19 centres, charitable hospitals, and for healthcare workers in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore.
With the generous support of thousands of donors in the first few weeks, we are going strong in this effort. We urge more and more people to join the mission to help our fellow Indians. According to one of the volunteers, Brinda Krishnan, Deputy Director – Employer Branding, Human Resources, Myntra, this is a chance to give back. “There is a greater joy in giving than receiving and that’s an opportunity one should not miss. I want to thank Myntra for joining hands with GiveIndia and allowing so many of us to show our appreciation to the medical warriors. No matter how the situation looks, the sun still shines, the wind still blows and the medical fraternity continues working around the clock. Let’s help them help us. Do your part,” she says.
Myntra Insider points for a donation
Members of Myntra Insider, Myntra’s own loyalty program, are now empowered to choose to donate their points and contribute towards medical supplies for the patients belonging to low-income communities being treated at home. One can facilitate medical care at home with 750 insider points and 4kgs oxygen cylinder refill for a critical care patient with 500 insider points. Since the commencement of the drive, over 33,000 customers from various cities have come forward and contributed more than 30 million Insider points.
“It’s the need of hour for each of us to step up and support our nation with every bit possible. Being a part of an organisation which stands in solidarity through it’s various efforts and the convenience of using my Myntra Insider points at just a click of a button, led me to make my contribution, ” says volunteer Soujanya Kadiyala, Senior Manager – Corporate Communications, Myntra.
The collective contribution will support healthcare heroes and critical patients at COVID centres and hospitals with essential medical supplies.
Launch of WinCovid – a repository of verified COVID resources
In a time of influx of information being passed on from one channel to another, it’s sometimes difficult to sieve useful resources. In a bid to help our employees and community at large find verified leads in these testing times, our in-house teams have developed a website repository of verified COVID resources.
The website has eight sections containing information for specific COVID needs including ambulances, plasma, hospital beds, etc, available pan-India. Depending on your location, one can view the resources available near your area, at the same time anyone can volunteer to help verify the sources and help the community.
In these testing times, our endeavour is to extend a helping hand to those who have been impacted the most due to the pandemic.
