Meet The Women Earning Their Livelihood By Working at Myntra’s Warehouse
Myntra has been leading the way in the Indian e-commerce industry as an inclusive workplace that offers equal opportunities to women. A shining example can be seen in the way Myntra hires women in its supply chain team.
When Yashoda joined Myntra’s Quality Check team in 2017, little did she know that there were infinite career opportunities she could explore. Since then, there has been no looking back for her. Two years later, Yashoda was promoted to the role of a supervisor and she couldn’t have been happier. Today, she not only manages inventory for the storage team but also has four people reporting to her. Additionally, she has also transformed into a mentor for a lot of her female colleagues and plays a pivotal role in their achievements and growth.

Similarly, Leena joined Myntra in 2014 as a part of the Inward department at the warehouse. Despite being skeptical about working in a male-dominated workplace, she grew to love her work at Myntra. Initially, her work involved quality checks and packing of products that entered the warehouse. Her commitment and performance soon got her a promotion and she moved to the Escalation Department. In January 2019, Leena was awarded ‘Star of the Month’ for resolving the highest number of escalations in a single month. Today, Leena is part of the Control Tower team and is handling intricate work that involves preparing complex reports that enable the smooth functioning of the warehouse.

Growing alongside Myntra
Both Leena and Yashoda have witnessed the growth of women employees at the Myntra warehouses. “When I first joined Myntra, there were only five women among the sea of people working here,” Leena said. “Today, we have hundreds of women working at the warehouse and we really enjoy the work here,” she added.

According to Yashoda, “The high women-employee retention at the warehouse can be attributed to the exemplary work environment and facilities that Myntra provides for us. I feel proud to be working in a company that supports diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer.”

Not only are Leena and Yashoda great at their work, but they each also have their own interests and passion that they love pursuing during their free time. Leena loves to paint while Yashoda gives free yoga lessons.
Apart from that, the dynamic women are also providers for their families, thanks to their Myntra earnings. Yashoda is able to support her two sons in college all the while augmenting her husband’s income. Leena has also been able to support her brother’s education in addition to taking care of her parents’ financial needs.
Today Myntra celebrates women like Yashoda and Leena who are part of the company’s Bangalore warehouse and star performers in an industry that was always perceived to be an all-male bastion.
