Myntra Fulfillment Center: The Happy Place in Ravi’s Life

Ravi is used to life throwing tough challenges at him. But taking in his stride the bitter sweet symphony that life is, he has also learnt to deal with those challenges. Getting a job at Bengaluru’s fulfillment center (FC) and becoming a pillar of support for his family has been a part of that learning curve.

26-year old Ravi, a B.Com graduate, is one of the many differently-abled employees at Myntra’s fulfillment center – a Myntra ‘Happy Boy’. He came to know about Myntra in 2013 through a campus drive and immediately made up his mind to take leap of faith. It has since then been a happy place in his life. Myntra’s FC is the place where he got the opportunity to earn a livelihood and support his family financially. Currently working in the Marketplace department of the fulfillment center, he has learnt the way the center and all its departments work. He has even made friends at work, whom he now considers as his family in Bangalore. It’s the sheer support from his colleagues and friends that has kept him ploughing forward with hope and positivity for a better future.

Ravi was afflicted with polio in his childhood. Unfortunately, even his siblings – an older sister and a younger brother – have a speech and hearing disability. While his brother runs a small shop, his sister is a homemaker. Ravi hopes to save enough money to get her married next year. These have been trying times for Ravi; he lost his mother a couple of months ago and even his 65-year old father has been suffering from ailments. But Ravi hopes to emerge stronger and more courageous at the other side of his struggles.

As an equal opportunity employer, Myntra has been successful in supporting people from diverse backgrounds and providing them career and growth opportunities. It has also been leading the way for creating an inclusive work environment while shaping the careers of Happy Boys across all the four fulfillment centers in India.

Seen always with a smile on their faces, the Happy Boys make sure every day at the fulfillment center is an exciting one.
