Myntra Stands With Its Employees Every Step Of The Way During COVID
None of us could have ever imagined or planned for the crisis that unfolded ever since COVID hit us last year, affecting everyone around us in unique ways.
At Myntra, we are doing everything we can to help our employees in managing the challenges raised by the pandemic at both personal and professional fronts. We introduced various COVID initiatives at the onset of the pandemic last year and have since added more and enhanced some policies to further support our employees and their immediate family members to tide over the second wave of the pandemic. Here’s how:
A central task force team
We have set up a central task force team, to establish, execute and monitor response strategies to help Myntraites and their loved ones affected by COVID. With a 24 x 7 helpline desk and a very active on-ground team of volunteers, this team addresses our people’s queries – from general help related to insurance, home care treatments to urgent matters such as hospital beds, oxygen supplies, a repository of plasma donors and ambulance amongst others – and spring to action to facilitate immediate help for our people as best they can.
The team has also created a repository of plasma donors, so those in urgent need can be connected to the willing plasma donors within the organization. In addition, we are also supporting our people and their loved ones with oxygen requirements in an organized manner of use and return model, available for them at free of cost.
We are also facilitating other services with the help of a volunteer-run network. In case of a medical emergency, a provision for advanced life support ambulances has been put in place at multiple locations including Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai as well as at our FC locations.
COVID-19 diagnosis and care facility
Our wellness partners enable 24×7 assistance for our people and their immediate family for COVID diagnosis, including home delivery of medicines as well as lab test support. For people who are in quarantine or need COVID care, we have set up a medical facility at a hospital in Bangalore, which is equipped with medical equipment, doctors, and paramedical staff, to provide the right assistance for mild symptoms.
Financial woes amidst a pandemic can add to these already stressful times, and to help them navigate this in times of need, we have the following in place.
Our medical insurance introduced COVID coverage last year, at the onset of the pandemic, covering expenses for all our employees and their dependents. It now covers home care treatments and Super Insurance cover, in addition to the existing hospitalisation expenses. Employees can avail cashless facility at our partner hospitals, additional features include home care treatment, along with the existing hospitalisation benefit. Our existing Life Insurance policy for employees covers COVID as well. In case of an emergency, Myntraites can also avail a salary advance of up to four months, which can later be paid back in 12 easy instalments. As part of the ‘Myntra for You’ initiative, employees can also avail a one-time reimbursement of up to INR 20,000 on expenses incurred due to COVID-19.
In association with our travel partner, we have enabled space for self-quarantine for our employees at special rates. Employees can avail this in case they are COVID positive with mild symptoms or are asymptomatic or are staying away from their hometown and want to safely distance themselves from their housemates or family members.
In our effort to encourage vaccination, we are working with our partners to host vaccination drives in our offices across various cities. The vaccination drive has already started for the first phase, covering our frontline workers, who have been keeping the supply chain running and ensuring a safe shopping experience for the customers from the comfort of their homes during these tough times. The complete cost of vaccination for its full-time employees and dependents, as well as third-party contract employees and delivery partners is being borne by the company. Our people can choose to get vaccinated at either one of Myntra’s offices or at their nearest vaccination centre, to later be reimbursed for the same.
Mental wellbeing, the top priority
Despite various measures taken up by us, the uncertainty of the present times may create a great deal of mental stress. As part of the Emotional Assistance Program (EAP) For Mental Wellness, our people and their family members can avail confidential counselling service, available 24×7 and at free of cost. Additionally, we have also tied up with Mfine to provide teleconsultation with psychologists or psychiatrists. To cope with the challenges of the day, as well as get a clear picture of the dos and don’ts in a pandemic, we organize online physical and mental health awareness programs, such as webinars on emotional wellbeing and Q&A sessions with an expert general physician.
We also encourage our employees to avail unlimited wellness leaves and up to two weeks of Family Care leaves to focus on their as well as that of their loved one’s well-being.
We have also brought changes to our working ways since last year to enable our people to hit a right balance between their personal and professional life. This includes no-meeting days, no meeting after 5 pm on Fridays, recharge leaves, a strong message of reprioritization of tasks whenever required, to mention a few.
For Myntra, employee wellness is a holistic approach. In tough times like this, we would like to assure all our employees that we have their back! We hope to emerge from this stronger.
