Myntra’s Home & Living Category Expands Further With the Launch of Home Center
There is a deep sense of gratification in setting up a space of one’s own; a space where inspiration strikes the hardest, a comfort corner where one opens their day while sipping on a cup of coffee, and not to forget that instagram-able nook that doesn’t hurt to show off every once in a while.
The home furnishing sector is growing at a fast pace as a large number of people are accessing online retail platforms to enhance their living space. This has further increased in the pandemic, with a sizable number of people spending most of their time indoors. To cater to this huge demand in the home & living space by home decor enthusiasts, Myntra has over 300 home decor brands on its platform with more than 90 categories and over 67,000 items including furnishing, flooring, lamps & lighting, photo frames, wooden wall shelves, clocks, lanterns and showpieces.
To further ramp up its home & living portfolio, Myntra has now launched Home Centre – one of the most sought after brand that offers home and living products – adding a matchless variety of lifestyle products on its platform. With this partnership, Myntra will add popular items like tableware, figurines, lamps and lighting bedsheets, curtains, cushions and more. The brand has several products, and affordable ones at that, within a price range of 299 INR and going up to 10,000 INR.
Myntra has seen a steady rise in the demand for home décor products over the last 2 years.
Ayyappan Rajagopal, Chief Business Officer agrees. “We are witnessing strong growth across the home category on Myntra as more people are now staying at home more than ever. They are looking for ways to redecorate their homes and we are happy to help them. We have aggressive plans for this segment,” he says.
Decoding latest home furnishing trends
As per a report by The Indian Express, the sales of home decor, mainly in soft furnishing items such as rugs and cushions, has witnessed a 2x growth in India. This happened at a time when the pandemic showed no signs of ebbing, and the work from home culture encouraged people to bedeck their home space. Interestingly, the report also states that the money customers usually spent on vacations were now being spent on doing up their homes instead.
So what’s on offer?
On Myntra, Home Center is currently offering up to 2,000 styles. This will go up to 3,000 over the upcoming months. These styles will soon include festival-inspired pieces including candles, decorative figurines, and gift items. “Myntra and Home Centre will work very closely on more unique product lines. These products will be curated specially for Myntra customers,” Ayappan said.
