Shopping for The Big Fat Indian Wedding

Big Fat Indian Wedding

If you thought wedding shopping for the Big Fat Indian Wedding was only about the trousseau, think again. The Wedding shopping starts well before the event and continues well after the event, encompassing the extended family, friends of the family and often the household staff of the family.

Every ceremony calls for custom shopping for all the members involved, from the gifts for the Baraati’s to the trousseau for the mehendi or sangeet.

Most of the pressure for the bride and groom is to look perfect on their D-day, which leads to all attention being diverted to shopping for the wedding trousseau. More often than not, that leads to return gifts, honeymoon shopping and more. But buying online has taken away much of this stress. Now couples can select and purchase from a wide range of collection for themselves and their friends and families, saving time, heartache and a lot of sweat. Most importantly, it saves the pitfalls of picking the colour, fabric and cut that “everyone knows bua just does not like”!

And yes, online shopping has also resulted in family-bonding sessions where the two sides get together and help each other choose for extended family and friends.
