Sneakers have sneaked into fashion
When Kanye West launched his Yeezy monochrome sneakers, the collection was sold out in the US in flat 15 minutes! Believe it or not, sneakers have actually sneaked in our wardrobes for good now. With some calling it couture trainers or luxe sportswear on ramp, sneakers are the biggest trends we have seen of late.
An ongoing exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum called “The Rise Of Sneaker Culture” explores the history and the journey of sneakers in our society so far. At the exhibition, one can check out the archives of brands such as Adidas, Converse, Nike, and Puma and know the significance of each brand in history.
For men, sneakers have become an all in one pair. Fashionable men are pairing their sneakers with not just track pants or denims, but also with chinos and formal suits. They don’t think twice before buying a pair of neon print sneakers because they know they are the only accessories in their otherwise conservative wardrobe.
Not just men, even women have embraced the sneaker trend wholeheartedly. They are not shying away from wearing sneakers with all kinds of outfits, including an evening dress or a pencil skirt. The trend of bringing comfort and normcore on and off the ramp has been popular for some time now.
Anne Valerie Hash, who debuted her new sneakers collection recently, thinks the sneaker trend is here because of the comfort factor. “I think this trend comes from the active life we all have and also because we have to deal with so many things during the day. We have to be light on our feet. You can be elegant and cool in sneakers at the same time, depending on the allure and the way you wear them,” she says.
Conservative or rebellious, bright or subtle, with or without shoestrings, you can shop all kind of sneakers on the Myntra app.
